About the Studio

Hi, I’m Mark Stern.
I’m a graphic designer, illustrator and cartoonist based in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. By day, I’m the senior graphic designer for a global office product manufacturer. By night, I’m available for freelance and commission work. I love what I do.
I love all aspects of graphic design. I get my kicks from discovering fresh new illustration styles. I’m passionate about hockey, good design, and my Mac. I grew up with Bill Watterson’s Calvin & Hobbes, Gary Larson’s Far Side, and Berke Breathed’s Bloom County, which have all influenced my style. I drew an award-winning comic strip in the Daily Illini and Columbia College’s Chronicle named Purgatory, and my upcoming strip is named Sterno.
If you’re interested in working with me on your project(s), care to connect, or would just like to say hi, feel welcome to write me an email.
