Honestly, it was a very specific request. I’m not implying rugby players walk (or run) on water. However, I do want to particularly point out that I completely redrew and colored that shark and the water, and the movie is rated G for Goons. It’s all in the details, my friends. hehe

Have you ever had an image so vivid in your mind that you can’t wait to put it down on paper? I love the finished piece.

Here are several characters that I created for the Illinois First Amendment Center. The little red guy, Uno, is still featured prominently in the site’s design. The rest of these characters are tucked away in the quizzes and game pages.

I was commissioned a few weeks ago to draw a pic of Dave playing at Alpine Valley. She insisted the vantage point be from waaay up on the lawn, so I obliged her… and stole some creative liberties with the perspective and people milling around in the foreground. This would be the largest graphite/pencil illustration I’ve done since I was in college. It also marked the first time I’ve drawn Dave. I was pretty happy with the resemblance, to be honest!

If you asked anybody that sat next to me in grade school, they’ll attest to the fact that I spent more time drawing Spider-Man in my notebook’s margins than I did taking notes on whatever Shakespearean sonnet we were covering that day. What can I say? Spidey’s awesome.

Sometimes when you start flinging lead around on a piece of paper, you come up with some weird stuff. Definitely a Looney Tunes influence coming to the surface here!

Every year in Springfield IL, my hometown has a two mile race to start off the first day of the Illinois Sate Fair. I had the pleasure of creating the t-shirt for the Rock Run in 2004. Emphasis was given to the “Rock” aspect!
